October 2012 The Sun Promo Prediction

Do you remember May 2012 The Sun Promo that gave some LEGO® polybag sets for free ? According to the Brickset, this similar promo will be launched again in October 2012, approximately at 6th until 13th. Unlike the previous, this October promo will give some polybag sets from various themes like The Lord of the Rings, Monster Fighters, Creator (2 sets) , City, Racers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Friends. Here are some sets that I recommend you to get,
30211 Uruk-hai with Ballista
30211 Uruk-hai with Ballista is a 2012 free promo set. According to artifexcreation, this The Lord of the Rings polybag set contains 21 pieces to build one Uruk-hai minifigure (his armors and axe are included) and one flicking Ballista. It will be a great Orc army builder and of course can be combined with 9471 Uruk-hai Army and 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep. I highly recommend you to get this in large quantities.

30201 Ghost Polybag
Where to Buy
30132 Captain Jack Sparrow Polybag
Where to Buy
30201 Ghost
30201 Ghost was previously available on Germany at May 2012. I still don't know about its pieces count but according to this Monster Fighters polybag set picture on Brickset, It contains one chained Ghost minifigure and an unique old style clock. I believe the minifigure is the same as the previous from 9467 Ghost Train.
30132 Captain Jack Sparrow
30132 Captain Jack Sparrow was released on 2011 and included with a shop.LEGO.com promo. This Pirates of the Caribbean polybag set contains only 4 pieces to build a unique Captain Jack Sparrow minifigure.

See The Full List on Brickset ...

The polybag set on the list can be changed anytime until the promo stars. I hope except those 3 sets above, at least one set from the list will be replaced with a polybag set from Star Wars line.

Updates :
10/06/2012 - October 2012 The Sun Free Polybag Set Promo is "probably" started today! I've also found the list on Wikia and its the same as the list on Brickset.

10/16/2012 - The starting day of October 2012 The Sun Promo is finally confirmed. The promo will be held on October 27 - November 4, 2012.

12/12/2012 - 30201 Ghost is selected in The Best 3 of 2012 LEGO® Polybags by atkinsar.

Official Planet Sets Series 1 Deal

Where to Buy
9674 Naboo Starfighter & Naboo, 9675 Sebulba's Podracer & Tatooine, and 9676 TIE Interceptor & Death Star are already packed into 500136 LEGO® Star Wars™ Buildable Galaxy Collection. Each of them originally is sold for $9.99 or $29.97 if buy all of them. But now you can get it only for $24.99 (16% off) if you buy the collection set.

In my opinion the Planet Sets Series 1 is really worthy when packed into one product collection like now. So, I really recommend you to get those set in this condition rather when its sold separately. Some creation can be made using the product collection above like a Flickr user called Shannon Ocean who had created a Homing Spider Droid using the Death Star from set 9676.

75005 Rancor Pit Preview

LEGO® Star Wars™ 75005 Rancor Pit
Where to Buy
Finally, the official picture of a new 2013 set, 75005 Rancor Pit has been re-uploaded again by LEGO® and more of its images when displayed in SDCC 2012 are also has been captured by FBTB. Those images are really helping me to make this preview. So, check this out,

According to the FBTB, LEGO® Star Wars™ 75005 Rancor Pit will be officially available in January 2013. The pieces count of this Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi sub-theme set is still unknown, but the set pieces generally will be used to build 4 minifigures (2 of them are new) and the huge Rancor Pit. The price of this set is $59.99.
Minifigures
  • Rancor (new) - He is huge, brown colored, and highly detailed. I think he is fairly bigger than Wampa from 8089 Hoth Wampa Cave, Hulk from 6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout, and Cave Troll from 9473 The Mines of Moria. Unlike the other huge minifigures, he got swiveling articulation on his bottom jaw and two middle fingers in both hands. There are also two studs on each shoulders that can be attached with minifigure, a printed brown cuff on his right hand, and a chain for controlling him.
  • Luke Skywalker - I think he is the same Luke minifigure from 9496 Desert Skiff. The funny thing of this set's Luke is he equipped with a bone not a lightsaber like usual in order to make this set more accurate to the movie.
  • Malakili (new) - He is the Rancor Keeper. His torso prints are cool and make him look fat. He also got sand green lower body piece, a brown cape, and a black stuff that used for controlling Rancor.
  • Gamorean Guard - I think he is the same Gamorean Guard minifigure from 9516 Jabba's Palace. He comes with a piece meat.
Rancor Pit
The Rancor Pit is quite big. There are two gates for Rancor and his keeper. Rancor's gate is much bigger than his keeper gate. It featured with a locking stuff to make it stay opened or suddenly closed when the stuff unplugged. The Rancor keeper gate is pretty standard and decorated with a key, a fork, and a can.

The pit main area is decently wide. There are a skeleton, a skull, and a container to make it more accurate to the movie.

Beside in Episode VI, Rancor is also appear in a Clone Wars episode called Bounty Hunters (According to the Wookiepedia) and it will be a nice addition for 9516 Jabba's Palace.

This preview is based on the set images from LEGO® and FBTB.

A New 2013 Set Revealed at SDCC 2012

Yeah, according to LEGO® SDCC 2012 Official Plans on FBTB's post, a new 2013 Star Wars™ set's construction will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 on next Saturday, July 14, 2012. The set is called Rancor Pit and its based on Episode VI : Return of the Jedi (It will be a nice addition for 9516 Jabba's Palace). I think this isn't a surprise because next year is the 30th Anniversary of the Episode VI. So, maybe next 2013, you can get more sets that based on that episode.

The Rancor Pit is included in 20 new LEGO® Star Wars™ sets that will be released in 2013. I hope we can get more sets based on Episode II : Attack of the Clones either because the film will be re-released in 3D in that year. Beside that, there is a sweepstakes that will give a 5-inch Luke Skywalker in LEGO® form.

I also highlighted the SDCC 2012's event preview for LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™ and LEGO® The Hobbit™ that will be held on Thursday, July 12.

2012 Star Wars™ Summer Sets Poll Result

Finally after waiting for about three months from March, the result of LEGO® Star Wars™ 2012 Summer Sets Poll (only for my favorite sets) has been succesfully gained. First, thanks for my blog visitors and readers who voluntarily participated the poll. Including my own votes, twenty five voters are already entered this poll and each voter can choose multiple options. Here is the result,

  1. 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter 14 votes
  2. 9516 Jabba's Palace 10 votes
  3. 9515 Malevolence 8 votes
  4. 9499 Gungan Sub 6 votes
  5. 9498 Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter 5 votes
  6. 9496 Desert Skiff 2 votes
From the result above we can see that most of the voters want to get 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter. I also agree with the vote so I will probably get it first. Sadly I didn't include 9526 Palpatine's Arrest in the poll because its just revealed in the end of May.

You also can make the poll result above as the consideration for what new set that you must get first.
