Finally I can get 9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack as my first ever LEGO® set. Thanks for my brother who buying it for me. OK, then let's go to the review!
9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack is a LEGO® Star Wars : The Clone Wars sub-theme set that was released on Winter 2012. It contains 98 pieces used to build 4 minifigures (3 of them are brand new) and a down scaled of Republic Artillery Cannon.
In Indonesia, I got it only for IDR 190.000 or about USD $19.00. This is a good deal because some Indonesia's retailers sell it for IDR 269.900 or about $26.99. Here's the box art showing the 2 features of the cannon i.e. flick missile launcher and swivelling barrel.
The battle pack comes with two unnumbered bags and one instruction booklet. Of course its so that the set is pretty easy to build.
As a battle pack, this set has a good selection for the parts. You can compare it some battle packs from the previous years.
The finished set,
The minifigures from left to right: ARC Trooper (brand new), ARF Trooper (new helmet marking and red arms), and Commando Droids (brand new).
ARC Trooper - I think he is the coolest minifigure on this set. He got new helmet mold which almost like Phase II Clone helmet and new markings on his torso and legs. He equips a lot of accessories like rangefinder, visor, fabric pauldron, fabric waist cape, a backpack and 2 blaster pistols.
ARF Trooper - He is the same ARF Trooper from 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack but with different helmet printing and arms color. A blaster rifle is equipped to him.
Commando Droid - He is brown colored and just like the regular Battle Droid with Super Battle Droid legs. He got small red dot marking on his torso. A regular blaster is equipped to him.
As I mentioned above the cannon is featured with flick missile launcher and swivelling barrel. The legs can be moved and there is also a seat to put the driver.
The extra parts that contain 3 rangefinders and 4 visors.
Overall, this set is highly recommended to be owned because of :
06/21/2012 - I just find out that the Clone Trooper minifigures from this set is the member of Rancor Battalion, an elite battalion which led by Commander Colt. According to the Clone Wars Wiki from Wikia, the ARC Trooper is identified as ARC Trooper Hammer while the ARF Trooper is well known as Unidentified ARF Trooper (Kamino). Both of the figures are participated in the Third Battle of Kamino.
09/18/2012 - I have uploaded my own LEGO® 9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack Review video on my YouTube channel. Check it through the link below,
Actually this is my first LEGO® set review video. So, please give me some feedback in order to make my review better.
